| Mathew Irsak |
Mathew Irsak has been a keen drummer since he was
7 years old. In January 1997, at the tender age of 12 Mathew received
his first endorsement, from Zildjian Cymbals.
This worldwide 'A' grade endorsement made him the youngest ever to
achieve such recognition. Yamaha Drums were quick to show their support,
endorsing Mathew and making him Australia's only Junior Clinician.
Mathew's name is already being associated with drummers like Mick
O'Shea (Judge Mercy, Billy Thorpe, Dragon), Brent Eccles (the Angels),
Paul Demarco (Rose Tattoo), Frank Celenza (Baby Animals) and Lucius
Borridge (The Hanging Tree). Some of the few Australians to have a
Zildjian A Grade Endorsement.
Matt has been featured twice on Channel 10 news with his band Childzplay,
and has been interviewed on Cheez TV, Agro's Cartoon Connection, 'V'
Channel with Nathan Harvey and been featured in Drum Media, Who Weekly
magazine and Disney Adventures.
Under the guidance of teachers including Chad Wackerman, David Jones,
Mick O'Shea and Milan Troaha, Mathew is exploring many musical avenues,
including several bands and a percussion group.
So far, Childzplay's biggest gig has been at two Western Suburbs Rugby
League Football games, where they played before the game, at half
time and after the game, to an audience of around 15,000 people.
Mathew's other work includes session work, touring with professional
musicians around the Country in many different shows.
Mathew's reading ability and vast knowledge of music making him very
employable for any environment.

Mathew's professional career started at the age of
9.
Playing his first paid gig for a band called Kactus Gravel. Since
then Mathew's professionalism, his enthusiasm and his positive outlook
on life has led him to play with such notice musicians as:-

This experience has been fantastic for Mathew as it assisted him in

Australian Music Talent

This Activity has lead to much media interest including Television,
Radio and Print Media.

Mathew's enthusiasm continues to develop whilst he takes time to
work on his creativity and love for music. In 2000 Mathew takes
on a project called "Ion" this was successful in the Australian
Music week as a finalist in 2001 Music Week Awards.
Enjoying writing and developing music Mathew Also joins "SK4"
in its development by providing assistance in tuning drums, writing,
and developing the band.
This interest also leads Mathew into recording for several bands
and gets him a name as a drumtech for recording studios with credits
on many Artists work. This involves the setting up of the equipment
to playing drums and percussion on some of their tracks to session
recording work as well as assistance in developing their music.
